which forced us to increase staff from 22 to 50 people. It
was a great effort that allowed us to grow and remain in the
LC: How are your customers changing?
RG: Our customers are increasingly demanding because of
market needs and regulation compliance. That’s why every
day Gomez Velasquez offers quality services, becoming integral strategic partners with our customers and suppliers.
LC: How is your business adapting to those changes?
RG: We are ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 certi;ed. A powerful management system keeps improving all our processes.
The staff is trained, changes are assessed and activities are
planned according to market needs.
LC: What has been your most dif;cult day on the job?
RG: We received two containers with products, and when
they were inspected, we realized that the supplier changed
the design, the layout and other parts and accessories
requirements. The manufacturer never informed us. As a
consequence, all the products were stored for two months,
and we couldn’t ful;ll our clients’ orders on time while the
parts were imported and the problem was solved.
LC: What does a typical day look like for you?
RG: I get up at 5: 30 in the morning. I work out about
50 minutes. I arrive at the of;ce at 8 in the morning. I
do my normal duties. And I serve my clients. At 12: 15, I
go home to have lunch with my wife and children, and
I return to the of;ce at 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. After that, I
exercise at our of;ce gym with a group of colleagues and
