You know the saying. “What happens in Las Vegas stays in Las Vegas.” And don’t
forget everyone’s favorite dad joke — that
you’re going on a trip to “Lost Wages.”
The clichés, Elvis impersonators and kitsch
make for a fun week (and the most kickin’
magazine cover in all the racks).
But as far as petroleum equipment and
fuel handling go, what happens in Las Vegas
doesn’t stay in Las Vegas. Decision-makers
consider, consume and implement the
newest information and products, and “lost
wages” more accurately describes businesses
that skip the industry’s biggest show.
This year, PEI published this issue of the
PEI Journal before the PEI Convention at the
NACS Show so you can be more productive
in Las Vegas.
Here are seven tips to keep you lucky:
1. Download the mobile app before you
arrive in Las Vegas. The PEI Event App is
available on Google Play and the App
Store. It lets you search exhibitors, view attendees, plan your schedule and see ;oor
plans. That same app lets you explore the
PEI Young Executives ( YE) Winter Conference, PEI Women Spring Conference and
Service & Construction Conference. Check
the app for all times, dates and places.
2. Flip through the PEI Convention special
section that begins on Page 65. It includes
the 2018 Exhibitor Guide and Product/
3. The YE session at convention isn’t limited
to YE members or people under 45. If your
employees at home might be interested
in joining YE, come check it out for them.
This is the only time of the year that YE is
open to nonmembers. Likewise, the PEI
Women event at convention isn’t limited
to PEI Women, but it is limited to women.
4. PEI’s newest sta;ers want to meet you.
Mary Ann Hill is our accounting manager. Scott Boorse is director of technical
programs and industry a;airs. Ms. Ryan
Tuttle is the registration guru (and a nurse).
And Jennifer Lindsey is our meetings and
exhibitions manager who works closely
with Bob Young and Sarah West. Introduce
yourself to them. They can help you.
5. Several sessions will be in Spanish as part
of PEI’s Latin American outreach. Let’s welcome our members from Latin America.
6. PEI is giving back. Donations to the PEI
Foundation will be used to purchase care
packages for deployed U.S. troops through
Operation Gratitude. You can volunteer to
assemble the kits and write letters during
PEI Women or PEI 1-on- 1.
7. Have an idea for the PEI Journal Want
to write a press release like a pro? Come
“Meet the Editor” at PEI 1-on- 1.
