fter three years of debate, fuel market-
ers will be able to sell compressed
natural gas (CNG) and liqui;ed
natural gas (LNG) using the Diesel Gallon
Equivalent (DGE). The rule goes into
effect Jan. 1.
The fuel industry proposal was one of two
that reappeared for balloting in July during
the 101st annual meeting of the National
Conference on Weights and Measures
(NCWM) in Denver. Both proposals failed
to pass in 2015.
The other proposal would have changed
the ;lters used on retail diesel dispensers
from a pore size of 30 microns to a pore size
of 10 microns. In a close vote, the diesel ;lter
measure failed to pass again in 2016.
