This is the of;cial opening day of the PEI Convention at
the NACS Show.
7: 30 to 9 a.m. Kick-Off Keynote Breakfast and General
Session. Former Commander of the USS Benfold and author
Mike Abrashoff will keynote the PEI Kick-Off Breakfast with
“It’s Your Ship.” At 36, Abrashoff took command of the ship
with the highest turnover rate in the U.S. Navy and used a
leadership road map to transform the morale of its crew. In
only 12 months, the USS Benfold achieved a No. 1 perfor-
mance ranking among the U.S. ;eet. Abrashoff will share
how similar strategies apply to the business world and how
leaders might “right their ships.”

9: 15 to 11: 30 a.m. Education Sessions
11: 30 to 5: 30 p.m. Trade Show. PEI oversees the Fuel
Equipment & Services area of the NACS Show. This section
features more than 200 manufacturers of equipment for
use in service stations, bulk plants and related fuel marking
operations. Payment systems, alternative fuels, DEF, carwash
equipment, lighting and canopies have strong showings on
the ;oor, along with pure petroleum equipment.
Noon to 4 p.m. PEI 1 on 1. PEI members at any time
may visit the PEI 1-on- 1 Pavilion, a lounge to relax, have
coffee and network at McCormick S402b and the foyer
outside the trade show ;oor. Hourlong roundtables will allow
members to meet PEI’s incoming president and discuss other
matters in an intimate setting.
5: 30 to 7 p.m. PEI After-Hours Lounge. Meet up a second night at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place.

Meeting. PEI members are encouraged to attend the complimentary PEI Membership Breakfast & Meeting.
