stations, concluded its 2017 Technology Summit in Austin, Texas,
with strong attendance and positive attendee feedback.
This year’s technology summit brought nearly 300 Wayne customers, distributors, suppliers and more participants to Wayne’s
North American headquarters city. Session topics at the summit
included payment, the future of fueling, retail and the internet
of things. Speakers hailed from Google, Intel, Dell/EMC, PayPal
and other companies. In addition, a Partner Showcase provided
an area for summit sponsors to exhibit and promote their technologies alongside Wayne’s latest products and solutions. This year’s
summit featured the Wayne Innovation Room, which offered
attendees a ;rst look at some of Wayne’s future technologies.
SPATCO ACQUIRES PETROTECH

Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Virginia and Tennessee,
Spatco Petroleum Solutions sells, installs and services all brands
of petroleum equipment.
Spatco Petroleum Solutions, a Blue Ridge Industries company, provides fueling equipment for retail and commercial
customers, as well as professional services such as electrical installations, turnkey projects, batching systems and service and repair.
In addition to serving the petroleum and industrial industry for
nearly 90 years, Spatco Energy Solutions is the North American
distributor and nationwide service and installation provider for
Galileo USA natural gas conversion equipment. The company

APPELBAUM JOINS FUELS INSTITUTE
The Fuels Institute recently
hired Amanda Appelbaum as
director of research. Appelbaum
will manage the think tank’s
research agenda and task groups and help commission compre-
hensive, fact-based research projects designed to assist retail
business owners make investment decisions and policymakers
consider legislation and regulation.
Appelbaum most recently served as an associate county
attorney for Prince George’s County in Maryland. She also spent
time as a judicial clerk in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s
County, Maryland, and was a staff attorney for the National
District Attorneys Association, National Center for Prosecution of
Appelbaum graduated magna cum laude with a degree in
bioethics from Washington University in St. Louis.;She earned
her doctorate from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
