trucks. These “new wave” diesels operate at much more
precise tolerances and can be severely damaged by fuel
contaminants. Retailers who would be asked to use the
;ner 30-micron ;lters, however, see trouble ahead in the
form of slower pumps and more frequent ;lter changes.
A representative from the National Association of Truck
Stop Operators (NATSO) pointed out that 95 percent of
the diesel sold in the United States goes in large trucks,
which typically are ;lled by high ;ow dispensers.
It’s safe to say the argument isn’t over. The issue is
now headed for a vote in Detroit, but the ;nal verbiage
that will be considered won’t be available until April.
CNG METHOD OF SALE
Another proposal that lit up the room involved public
compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling stations. Currently,
the price you see at your neighborhood CNG station is a
gasoline gallon equivalent (GGE). An NCWM proposal
in 2013 sought to add a diesel gallon equivalent (DGE) to
acknowledge the large number of trucks and commercial
used on gasoline dispensers. This item was originally pro-
posed by the Fuels and Lubricants Subcommittee (FALS)
in 2007. After debate over the years, an exemption for
high-;ow dispensers was added in Albuquerque.
Regulators see this as a fuel quality issue—and they
have “Big Oil” and vehicle manufacturers cheering them
on. Ron Hayes, chairman of FALS, cited the growing
number of diesel engines in automobiles and light-duty
NCWM staff wrap up another successful meeting.

If it’s a remanufactured product from PMP,
you know its performance will shine!
In fact, the PMP mission is to remanufacture products to performbetterthannew! That’s the PMPstandard.
We accomplish this by completely remanufacturing every product that comes our way — not just repairing the
obvious defects. We go through each valve, printer, cash drawer, meter, computer,
vapor recovery pump and register from top to bottom, inside and out — inspecting,
repairing and replacing anything that’s not 100% operational. We use the best parts
and highest quality materials throughout the remanufacturing process. Finally, we
rigorously test each and every unit to ensure it performs according to the PMP standard.
That’s how we make our customers shine!
Lower your service station maintenance costs with PMP remanufactured products.
