members experienced. DEF will be front and center, and ULSD
issues will not disappear. Other potentially big developments,
including outfitting stations for E15, inspecting/maintaining UST
system components on a nationwide basis and new payment
systems (like the electric wallet), are still a year away.
James D. Ether DiStriCt 1, DiStriButor .m. dalyrmple Saratoga Springs, n. Y. pei PEI involvement is a key to success in these tough times. Why go it alone when you have the support of and access to your peers nationally and internationally? I have learned so much from those who have gone before us. The people of PEI are the greatest resource for my business. In return, we all need to be resources that will help make PEI stronger for the years to come. 2012 I believe 2012 offers plenty of opportunities to get stronger as our markets get leaner. Relationships have never

2012 Based on how slow the economic recovery has been, I
am sorry to say that I do not see things improving very much
in 2012. Business should be about status quo as compared to
2011. Opportunities are limited in the historic areas served by our
industry. So, look to other sources to help generate income by
diversifying. DEF, E15 and CNG are all possibilities. But as I see it,
these are only stopgap measures that will not cure our country’s
reliance on crude oil from foreign countries.
Our district has seen three major oil refineries shut down as a
result of concern over federally mandated environmental requirements and forced upgrades—along with the refineries’ inability to
make any profit. Thus, the Delaware Valley is in a bit of a distillate
crunch with the loss of about one-third of our needed supply.
