Joey Cheek, president of JMP Solutions, Inc., Tampa, Fla., has been elected by the members of the Petroleum Equipment Institute (PEI) to serve as president of the
organization. He most recently served as PEI’s vice president.
Cheek was elected during the Institute’s 61st annual conven-
tion and trade show in Chicago, Ill., last October.
Cheek has served as the president of JMP Solutions since
2003. Founded in 1963, JMP Solutions provides sales, service,
installation, design, engineering and fuel facility construction of
convenience stores, service stations, car care centers, fuel depots
and garage facilities. Cheek has served as chairman of the PEI
Convention/Education Committee, and on the PEI Board of
Directors and the PEI Executive Committee. He is currently a
member of the Pioneer 10-Group and the Installation of Under-
ground Liquid Storage Systems (RP100) Committee.
Terry Cooper, president of Acterra Group, Inc., Marion,
Iowa, has been elected to serve as vice president of PEI. Cooper
most recently served as PEI’s treasurer.

Farrell to Serve as
2012 PEI Officers
1998. Founded in 1958, Acterra Group provides sales, installation and service of all equipment used in service stations,
bulk plants, terminals, airports, industrial fueling facilities and
convenience stores. He has been on several PEI committees,
in addition to serving two terms on the PEI Board of Directors.
He is currently a member of the Shop-Fabricated Aboveground
Tank Overfill Prevention (RP600) Committee and chair of the
Bulk Storage Plant Installation (RP800) Committee. He also is
a member of the Independence 10-Group.
Phil Farrell, president of Double Check Company, Inc.,
Kansas City, Mo., has been appointed PEI’s treasurer by the
Farrell has served as the president of Double Check since
1980. Founded in 1965, Double Check is a distributor of
petroleum, car wash and lubrication equipment, and industrial
pumps. The company has six offices throughout Oklahoma,
Kansas and Missouri. Farrell has served on the Convention/
Education Committee, Executive Committee and the PEI
Board of Directors. He is a member of the Republic 10-Group.
